Celebrating the legacy of Florence B. Price, internationally renowned soprano Karen Slack seamlessly blends a historically overlooked musical legacy with present-day artistic excellence.
The groundbreaking album features superb recordings of 19 unpublished pieces (including 16 world premiere recordings) by composer Florence B. Price, considered the first African-American woman to have a composition played by a major orchestra.
This event features Price’s music alongside songs by Ravel and Schubert.

Beyond the Years is in collaboration with ONEcomposer, an organization dedicated to celebrating composers who have been historically erased. ONEcomposer is inspired by the long-lasting legacy of Florence B. Price.
This enchanting event will take listeners on a journey of rediscovery, reflection, and reimagination.
