Ragamala Dance Company’s Sacred Earth honors the divinity of the natural world and the sustenance we draw from it. Inspired by the ephemeral arts of kolam rice flour ritual, Warli paintings, and the Tamil Sangam literature of India, Sacred Earth is Artistic Co-Directors Aparna Ramaswamy and Ranee Ramaswamy’s singular vision of the delicate, interdependent relationship between humanity and nature. Arriving just after Earth Day, our presentation of Sacred Earth unfolds as an invocation, reminding us that we do not stand apart from the living world, but are woven into its breath, rhythms, and fragile continuance.
